Danny Green played a huge role during the Raptors championship run back in 2019. He and Kawhi Leonard came over in a blockbuster trade and immediately meshed with the Raptors under Nick Nurse.

Green will now have an opportunity to play under Nurse once again.

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a one-year deal with Danny Green, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski:

Green will be the first former Raptors player to play for Nick Nurse since he was hired by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Green is a three-time NBA Championship winner with the San Antonia Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers. He recently said that he would rather keep the Raptors ring he won over the Lakers one.

This will be Green’s second stint with the 76ers as he spent two seasons with Philadelphia in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

The last time Green played for Nurse he produced one the best seasons of his career. He averaged 10.3 points per game (his third-best single-season mark) on a blistering 45.5 percent from three-point range. Green also stayed healthy playing in 80 games and 27.7 minutes per content.

Over 830 career games, Green has averaged 8.7 points, 1.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds.

Danny Green reunited with Nick Nurse

The last time Danny Green was with Nick Nurse, he was a starter on a championship-winning team.

Green is likely on his last run in the NBA so he won’t be used as heavily as he was in Toronto, however Nurse will make sure he gets the most out of the veteran shooter with championship experience.

The Raptors will not only take on former head coach Nick Nurse, but they will also have to play against former guard Danny Green when the 76ers and Raptors meet on Oct. 28.

The 76ers are hoping Green’s big time shot-making ability and veteran presence can help them make their own title run this season.
