It’s been four years since the Toronto Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championship, but the memories are still fresh.

It was one of the most thrilling title wins by any team over the last decade.

The Raptors set up their championship run by making a huge blockbuster trade in the summer of 2018.

The Raptors traded DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a lottery-protected first-round pick for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.

The rest is history as both players played a huge role for the Raptors during the season and into their historic postseason run.

Even to this day the Toronto ring won by Green holds a special place in his heart.

During an appearance on the “Gil’s Arena” show, Green said that he would likely pawn his Lakers bubble ring before his Raptors or Spurs ring.

He says it’s because he could get the most money for it since it was a bubble year and Kobe year.

However, Green does acknowledge that his Raptors ring is the nicest one he has:

“I could probably make the most off the Lakers one. And that’s probably the one you want to keep. San Antonio is a little older, so it’s a nice ring. But it’s not as nice as Toronto. The Toronto one is ridiculous. It’s the biggest one.”

Green had to of course wait to receive his Raptors ring due to COVID-19 but finally got it 1,029 days after his final game for the Raptors:

The wait was well worth it for Green as he got a hero’s ovation at Scotiabank Arena.

Danny Green’s role with Raptors during 2018-19 season

Green was solid in his role with the Raptors. He averaged 10.3 points per game while hitting 45.5% of his 3-pointers.

Green only spent one season with the Raptors, before leaving in free agency to join the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2019.

However even in his limited time with Toronto, Green still played a pivotal role for the team helping them reach championship glory.
