Giannis Antetokounmpo powered the Milwaukee Bucks to a 122-116 win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, delivering a monster performance with 31 points and 20 rebounds as the Bucks improved to 2-0 on the young season.
Cole Anthony added 23 points, including nine in the decisive fourth quarter, helping Milwaukee pull away after the game was tied 86-86 heading into the final period. The Bucks outscored the Raptors 36-30 in the fourth to secure the victory.
Antetokounmpo, who poured in 37 points in the Bucks’ season opener, overwhelmed Toronto’s defense again. The two-time MVP relied on his trademark power and speed to dominate the paint, shooting 11-of-14 from the field and taking just two attempts outside the lane. Gary Trent Jr. also contributed 20 points in the win.
Brandon Ingram shone in his home debut for Toronto with 29 points, while RJ Barrett added 20 in a strong supporting effort. Despite a late push, the Raptors couldn’t contain Milwaukee’s interior attack down the stretch.
The Bucks suffered a scare in the fourth quarter when forward Kyle Kuzma left the game with a sprained left ankle and did not return.
