PJ Tucker isn’t expected to play any games with the Toronto Raptors.

Raptors general manager Bobby Webster addressed the media on Friday morning following the NBA Trade Deadline and confirmed the Raptors have no plans to keep Tucker. Toronto is expected to work out a possible buyout with him.

The Raptors acquired the 39-year-old along with a second-round pick in Thursday’s trade deadline from the Miami Heat, sending Davion Mitchell to Miami. Tucker has not played this season after he requested a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Meanwhile, Chris Boucher who was heavily rumored to be traded, was not moved.

“We did have (trade) talks (with other teams) but we love Chris [Boucher]. He’s the lone survivor from 2019. It seems like he’s been here forever,” Webster said.

Webster also mentioned that he doesn’t anticipate a buyout taking place with Boucher. “I think he wants to be here and we love having him around,” he said.

Boucher will continue to be in and out of the Raptors’ rotation for the rest of the season. After that, he will head into unrestricted free agency. With the Raptors trying to keep financial flexibility after the Ingram trade, it’s very unlikely the team re-signs Boucher this summer. However, never count him out when it comes to sticking around.

Raptors take on Thunder

The Toronto Raptors will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in their first game following the NBA Trade Deadline.
