Toronto Raptors’ forward Bruce Brown is a name that continues to pop up in the rumor mill as the trade deadline approaches.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Denver Nuggets have interest in Brown.

The Nuggets pulling off a trade for Brown would be difficult. However, if he gets bought out by the Raptors, Denver could be first in line to get him.

“Another team, fittingly, to keep in mind for Brown on the buyout market — if it gets that far — would be Denver,” Fischer wrote. “The Nuggets, sources say, would love a reunion with the veteran swingman affectionately known as Brucey B.”

For the Nuggets to acquire Brown, they would have to make room for him.

“Of course, to even have a shot at Brown, Denver would still have to make some cost-cutting moves on the trade front in order to get under the first apron for luxury tax teams,” Fischer added.

The Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Championship with Brown on their roster. He would certainly be a valuable piece on their current team from off the bench.

But, the Nuggets potential path to reuniting with Brown seems complicated.

“Apron teams cannot sign any player who is bought out of a contract that pays more than the league average of $12.4 million. So Brown, in the Nuggets’ current state, wouldn’t be available to Denver even if he made it to free agency and both sides were eager for a reunion,” Fischer wrote. “Sources say that the Nuggets are indeed weighing whether trying to trade out of apron territory to create pathways to buyout market candidates would be a worthwhile endeavor.”

The Nuggets are starting to hit their stride, so they could look to get active on the trade market. They have also been connected to Raptors’ forward Chris Boucher, who would be easier for them to acquire.

The trade deadline is set for Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET.

Jake Fischer also weighed in on the Toronto Raptors’ intentions to move Bruce Brown.

He could be a buyout candidate if the Raptors don’t find a deal for him.
