The Toronto Raptors will be without two key rotation players when they host the Orlando Magic on Jan. 21.
Immanuel Quickley and Ochai Agbaji still haven’t practiced yet and both players have been ruled out for Tuesday night. They both did light individual workouts, however, Agbaji was limited to his left hand as the laceration on his right hand heals, per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
Chris Boucher also missed practice due to an illness and he is questionable.
It’s been a tough season for Quickley who can’t seem to catch a break with injuries. Quickley has only appeared in 9 games for Toronto as he is currently dealing with a nagging groin injury.
This recent injury is one of many setbacks the 25-year-old has faced this season. He suffered a pelvic injury on opening night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Then he partially torn the UCL in his left elbow against the Los Angeles Lakers that caused him to miss 22 games. Quickley made his long awaited return on Jan. 1 against the Brooklyn Nets. He played in 6 straight games before suffering a groin injury against the Detroit Pistons. There is no current timetable for his return. Quickley has averaged 16.2 points and 6.1 assists on 37.8 percent shooting from the field and 34.5 percent shooting from three through 9 contests. With Quickley out, the Raptors will continue to turn to Davion Mitchell in the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, Agbaji is working his way back from a right hand laceration. He exited the game against the Boston Celtics on Jan. 15 and received three stitches on his right hand. There is no timetable for when he will return to action. Agbaji has been having a nice season with the Raptors, averaging 10.6 points on 40.3 percent shooting from three in 39 games this season. Jonathan Mogbo and Ja’Kobe Walter have been recalled from the G League and will join the Raptors for this game.
The Raptors are currently second last in the NBA with a 10-32 record.
