The Toronto Raptors already have their eyes on the 2025 NBA Draft.
Sitting at 10-32, the Raptors currently have the second worst record in the league. If the season ended today, Toronto would have a 52.1 percent chance to land a top-4 pick and a 14 percent chance to get the no. 1 overall pick.
This year’s draft class is considered very strong, with many top prospects including Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey.
In Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft, Jonathan Wasserman has the Raptors landing Bailey at no 3:
“January has shown us the biggest pros and cons with Ace Bailey’s shotmaking, positional measurements, tough shot selection and limited burst/handle.
With Dylan Harper out, he exploded for 39 points, carrying Rutgers and generating offense with his jump shot and ridiculous release point. He then combined to shoot 8-of-31 in losses to Wisconsin and Purdue, having trouble earning easy baskets.
Bailey bounced back for an efficient performance against UCLA, where he picked his spots better, didn’t force plays and used his length to disrupt defensively.
Even considering Bailey’s weaknesses, NBA teams are going to feel a sense of comfort with a 6’10” wing who offers special shooting skills and an ability to create separation just by using his positional height/length.”
Bailey is exactly the type of player who the Raptors need. His elite scoring would be a great fit alongside Scottie Barnes. At his size, Bailey is a matchup nightmare and his impressive shooting and scoring ability has already been on display.
Wasserman lists Brandon Miller and Michael Porter Jr. as Bailey’s pro comparisons. Bailey has been magnificent with Rutgers thus far averaging 19.3 points and 7.9 rebounds on 46.2 percent shooting from the field this season. He’s a high-volume shooter who would slide into the Raptors starting lineup nicely.
Being a 6’10” wing and special shotmaker makes Bailey’s ceiling incredibly high. He would be a great pick for the Raptors.
B/R proposes hypothetical Raptors trade with Bruce Brown going to Grizzlies
The Feb. 6 trade deadline is a few weeks away for the Toronto Raptors and they are expected to be in many conversations leading up to it.
Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz recently proposed a hypothetical trade between the Memphis Grizzlies and Raptors.
