The Toronto Raptors will be on the second night of a back-to-back in Detroit to take on the Pistons.
These teams last met ten days ago, when the Raptors fell 99-95. Jakob Poeltl dominated in that matchup putting up 25 points and 18 rebounds. The Raptors will be looking for their first road win of the season (0-9). They’ll need a win tonight to avoid matching the worst road start in franchise history, set in 1997-98.
The Pistons have been playing a lot better this season. They had a busy offseason adding solid veterans in Tobias Harris, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley who have helped them be competitive. However, the Pistons come into this one on a three-game losing streak.
The Raptors will be without their sophomore sniper Gradey Dick who is out with a left calf strain. The Raptors have recalled Ja’Kobe Walter from Raptors 905. Bruce Brown Jr. (knee), Immanuel Quickley (elbow), D.J. Carton (ankle) and Kelly Olynyk (back) are all out.
The Pistons will probably be without Cade Cunningham who is doubtful with a hip injury and Bobi Kintman (calf) is out.
Barnes played 27 minutes against the Timberwolves and then played 34 on Sunday against Cleveland. He should be close to returning to his regular workload as he returned from his orbital fracture last week.
This should be an interesting game with both teams needing a bounce back win.
