The Toronto Raptors will have two picks in this year’s draft after the team lost their first-round pick to the San Antonio Spurs.
Toronto’s pick fell to No. 8 so it is conveyed to the Spurs as part of the Jakob Poeltl trade from 2023.
Since the Raptors won’t be in the lottery after a disappointing 2023-2024 season, they now have their work cut out for them. Toronto will have to find some hidden gems at No. 19 and No. 31.
Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report released his latest mock draft. He has the Raptors taking Kyle Filipowski from Duke at No. 19 via the Indiana Pacers. Filipowski is a 7’0″ center who is coming off a strong sophomore season. He has nice shooting, post skills, improved finishing and passing ability. Filipowski looks like he can make a smooth transition to the NBA as a stretch 4 or 5. He would be a solid backup to Jakob Poeltl. Wasserman compares Filipowski to Moritz Wagner of the Orlando Magic.
Wasserman then has the Raptors selecting Bobi Klintman at No. 31 via the Detroit Pistons. Klintman is coming off an impressive season in the NBL. He has nice transition ball-handling, shooting range and athleticism. He is also able to finish around the rim and has strong defensive instincts. Klintman does multiple things well, which will make him an enticing NBA combo forward. Wasserman compares him to De’Andre Hunter of the Atlanta Hawks.
The 2024 NBA Draft is set for June 26 and 27.
The Ringer has Raptors taking Isaiah Collier at No. 19 in latest mock draft
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer put out his latest mock draft and he has Collier falling to the Raptors at No. 19.
Collier is a 6’5″ guard who is known to be a scorer. In his freshman season he averaged 16.3 points a contest on 46.2 percent shooting from the field and 33.3 percent shooting from deep.
