Gradey Dick has had a tough start to his NBA career.
The rookie struggled in his first 15 games in the NBA. He was assigned to Raptors 905 of the G League after Toronto’s win over the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 24.
In his Raptors 905 debut, Dick struggled with his shot mightily. In 33 minutes of action Dick scored just 2 points on 1-12 shooting from the field and was 0-6 from three.
Dick was believed to be the best shooter of his draft class but so far his shot has not been falling.
Dick was once again in action for Raptors 905 on Nov. 27 as they took on Capital City Go-Go.
Before the game, Dick was seen getting some shots up:

Dick had a much better outing this time around, but he still continues to struggle with his shooting efficiency. He finished with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists on 5-21 shooting from the field and 3-12 shooting from three. He did finish a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line.
The highlight of this game for Dick was him hitting a nice fadeaway corner three:

According to Aaron Rose of Sports Illustrated, Dick has been ruled out for the Raptors game against the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 28. He will remain with Raptors 905 potentially through their Dec. 1 game. There has been no official timeline on when Dick will return to the Raptors.
Spending time with Raptors 905 and getting his confidence back is exactly what Dick needs. There should be no rush to bring him back on the Raptors as he continues to work on his game.
Former Raptors player suggests Dick’s shot has been changed
Former Raptors player Sam Dekker put out a post on X questioning who changed Gradey Dick’s shot.
He suggests that Dick’s shot has changed since joining the NBA. This is something that’s common for young shooters once they enter the NBA level.
