The Toronto Raptors got steamrolled by the Milwaukee Bucks 128-112.
The Bucks won this game despite not having Giannis Antetokounmpo who was out with a calf injury.
The Raptors were missing Gary Trent Jr. (plantar fasciitis) and O.G. Anunoby (finger).
Gradey Dick got the start in place of Anunoby. Dick became the third teenager to start a game for the Raptors after Chris Bosh and Tracy McGrady.
The Raptors once again got off to a slow start in this one. After Toronto got out to an early 6-point lead the Bucks called a timeout and then went on a run. They outscored the Raptors 36-21 in the first quarter.
The Bucks led 70-47 at halftime and never looked back. They led by as many as 33 points as there was no comeback magic from the Raptors on this night.
Damian Lillard had a huge game as he finished with 37 points, 13 assists and 4 rebounds. Malik Beasley torched the Raptors from downtown. He hit 8 three-pointers, finishing with 30 points. He almost had as many threes as the Raptors had combined (9).
Six Bucks players finished in double figures. The Bucks hit 20 threes and finished 51 percent from the field and 51 percent from deep.
The Raptors lone bright spot in this one was Scottie Barnes. He finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. He continues to shine in the early part of the season.
Barnes didn’t get much help at all. Pascal Siakam who had 39 points against the Washington Wizards disappeared in this one. He only had 11 points on 9 shot attempts. He also continues to struggle from deep. Siakam missed his two three-point attempts and is now shooting it 23.5 percent from downtown.
Jakob Poeltl finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds but he was benched to start the second-half. He was having a tough time guarding the high pick and roll. Precious Achiuwa started the second-half as he led all Raptors bench scorers with 11 points.
This was a disappointing effort from Toronto. They got off to another poor start and their half-court offense continues to be bad. The Raptors defense has also taken a hit with Anunoby out with injury.
