The Toronto Raptors are fresh off a victory against Cairns Taipans and now look to to make it a perfect 3-0 on the preseason as they visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.
This will be the Raptors third preseason. Toronto is less than 10 days away from their regular season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 25.
The Raptors are dealing with some injuries this preseason. A couple of their players have been out and have yet to suit up for the team thus far.
Jakob Poeltl who did play in the Raptors first preseason game, missed the Raptors second preseason matchup against the Taipans due to an illness. According to Josh Lewenberg, Jakob Poeltl wasn’t at practice today and he’s still under the weather.
Precious Achiuwa has been day-to-day with a groin injury and has missed the Raptors first two preseason games.
According to Lewenberg, Achiuwa fully participated in practice today.
Otto Porter Jr. who has yet to suit up for the Raptors this preseason was also a full participant in practice today as he ramps up from toe surgery, Lewenberg said.
Christian Koloko remains out indefinitely due to respiratory issues. There’s no timetable for his return.
The Raptors have two games left this preseason. They take on the Bulls and then wrap up their preseason schedule on Oct. 20 against the Washington Wizards.
The goal for the Raptors for the rest of this preseason is to remain healthy and hopefully get all of their players back soon.
Darko Rajakovic compares Jakob Poeltl to All-Star center
Jakob Poeltl who missed Sunday’s game against the Taipans is expected to be heavily involved in Darko Rajakovic’s new offense.
Poeltl is going to be seeing more touches and be put in the spotlight.
Rajakovic is high on his center, comparing him to Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis.
Poeltl is entering his ninth NBA season. He averaged 13.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26 games for the Raptors last season.
