The Toronto Raptors missed out on the All-Summer League honors, despite reaching the semifinals.

The NBA announced its First and Second Team selections on Tuesday. The First Team included Nique Clifford, Kyle Filipowski, David Jones-Garcia, Jordan Miller and Terrence Shannon Jr. Meanwhile, the Second Team featured Ron Holland II, Isaac Jones, Kon Knueppel, Ajay Mitchell and KJ Simpson.

The Raptors didn’t have a single standout offensively, which is the type of player who usually gets an award. They were able to secure a 4-1 record through a total team effort and their stellar defense. The Raptors led the tournament in forced turnovers and turned its defence into offense through their 5 games played.

Jamal Shead who helped anchor the Raptors’ impressive defense had a 24-point, 12-assist outing in the semifinal loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Ja’Kobe Walter had the best scoring outing on the Raptors as he scored 26 points with 7 steals in a win over the Denver Nuggets.

Even A.J. Lawson erupted for a 22-point game.

However, none of the players dominated consistently enough for them to earn a spot on any of the teams.

The Raptors will now have some time off before they open up training camp in the fall.

Raptors announce preseason schedule

The Toronto Raptors will be holding training camp in Alberta for the first time in franchise history.

They will set up shop at the University of Calgary’s Jack Simpson Gym from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.
