Alijah Martin was the story of the Toronto Raptors’ first Summer League game.
The rookie wasted no time showing what he can do. In the second quarter of Friday’s Summer League game, Martin threw down a ferocious poster dunk in what was one of the most impressive dunks ever seen at Summer League. Martin beat Javon Freeman-Liberty off the bounce and accelerated to the the rim. He took off from two feet and finished the emphatic one-handed slam over Chicago Bulls’ big man David Muoka:

Martin nearly added another poster dunk in the second-half but he couldn’t finish it.
Martin is a freakish athlete and that was on full display in this one. The 6-foot-2 guard has elite explosiveness which helped the Florida Gators’ during their 2025 National Championship run. Martin’s 38-inch vertical at the NBA Draft Combine ranked among the best in his class.
Overall, Martin finished the game with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. He shot 6-for-12 from the field and 2-for-4 from three in the Raptors’ blowout victory over the Bulls.
The Raptors took Martin with the 39th pick of the 2025 NBA Draft and they officially signed him to a two-way contract on Thursday.
Martin has a long way to go in terms of cracking a rotation spot with the team, but his athleticism, fearlessness and overall commitment on defense is exactly why the Raptors took a chance on him.
The Raptors will take on the Orlando Magic on July 13 in their second Summer League game.
