The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery is set for May 12.
The Toronto Raptors will have the seventh best odds entering the lottery.
They will have a 31.9 percent chance to jump into the top four and a 7.5 percent chance to win the lottery and get the No. 1 overall pick.
If the Raptors don’t jump up they will likely end up picking at No. 7, unless they fall back. That would be the worst case scenario.
In Bleacher Report’s latest mock draft, Jonathan Wasserman has the Raptors picking at No. 7 and taking Duke big man Khaman Maluach who he compares to Mark Williams:
“Without room for any young wings to play and develop, the Toronto Raptors could be higher on Khaman Maluach than most.
He was having a strong NCAA tournament before running into Houston. In 21 minutes, he converted one basket, grabbed zero rebounds and picked up four fouls.
It wasn’t the type of performance that will help convince NBA teams that he will be ready for regular minutes next season.
Rebuilding or patient teams won’t likely be bothered. There is still plenty of optimism out there in the long-term potential tied to his 7’2″ size and mobility for finishing, rim protection and shot-contesting.
And given the pre-Duke flashes of shooting range and this year’s 76.6 percent mark from the free-throw line, Maluach may be able to strengthen his case further during workouts.”
Many mock drafts have been linking the Raptors to Maluach. He makes a lot of sense for Toronto given their need for a backup big man.
Maluach has tremendous defensive potential and could eventually step into a starter’s role to anchor the team’s defense post Jakob Poeltl.
He is limited offensively, but he is such a raw prospect that the Raptors would take their time with his development.
Maluach to the Raptors could become a reality if Toronto ends up picking here.
Former Raptors wing OG Anunoby comes up big as Knicks stun Celtics in Game 1
OG Anunoby and the New York Knicks stole Game 1.
It looked like the Boston Celtics were going to cruise to a Game 1 victory. They were up by 20 points midway through the third and seemed to be in full control of the game.
But then the Knicks struck back.
