Chris Boucher is not going anywhere.
The Toronto Raptors veteran was not moved ahead of the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline buzzer. This was the biggest surprise of the day for Toronto as they keep Boucher and his expiring $10.8 million contract – which was believed to make him a likely trade candidate for a contender.
The Raptors reportedly explored moving Boucher at last year’s trade deadline but they were unable to find a deal. Leading into this trade deadline, there was a lot more trade buzz surrounding Boucher, but the Raptors were once again unable to find a trade suitor for him. The Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks were some of the rumored teams interested in Boucher leading up to the deadline.
Boucher’s playing time has been inconsistent with the Raptors. He had fallen out of the rotation before getting a lot more playing time as the team got closer to the deadline. However, it appears he will be out of the rotation for the final stretch of the season. Beyond this season, it’s unlikely that Boucher will be re-signed this summer since Toronto needs to maintain financial flexibility when they look to re-sign Brandon Ingram. In that case, the Raptors may simply let Boucher walk.
The 32-year-old is the lone player remaining from the Raptors 2019 championship team.
Raptors acquire James Wiseman & cash from Pacers
The Toronto Raptors snuck in another deal right before the NBA Trade Deadline buzzer.
The Raptors have reportedly acquired James Wiseman and cash from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for a top-55 protected second-round pick, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
