Coby White led the way with 25 points. In comparison, Nikola Vucevic recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors 122-106 on Friday night, snapping Toronto’s season-best five-game winning streak.

Jalen Smith chipped in a season-high 17 points, Josh Giddey added 15, and Matas Buzelis scored 12 as the Bulls secured their third straight victory in Toronto.

Scottie Barnes paced the Raptors with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while RJ Barrett contributed 19. Immanuel Quickley, returning to the starting lineup after an eight-game absence due to a strained left hip, finished with 14 points. However, Toronto fell to 1-9 in games Quickley has played this season.

The Raptors, who had won seven of their last eight, struggled when trailing at halftime, dropping to 1-24 in such situations.

Takeaways

Bulls: Chicago was without leading scorer Zach LaVine for a second straight game due to personal reasons. After falling to Boston without him on Wednesday, the Bulls bounced back strong against Toronto.

Raptors: Toronto closed out January with an 8-7 record, marking its first winning month since November 2023.

Key Moment

Toronto briefly took a 64-63 lead on a layup by Barrett with 7:17 left in the third quarter, but Chicago quickly responded. Buzelis scored seven points during an 18-8 Bulls run, giving them an 88-74 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Key Stat

Chicago’s bench played a major role in the win, outscoring Toronto’s reserves 50-32.

Up Next

Both teams return to action on Sunday. The Bulls will visit the Detroit Pistons, while the Raptors will host the Los Angeles Clippers.
