Timberwolves Vs. Raptors Preview: Toronto Seeks Second Straight Win

The Toronto Raptors will continue their mini two-game homestand when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Scotiabank Arena.

The Raptors snapped a seven-game losing streak with a strong outing against the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 18.

The Timberwolves are coming off back-to-back victories over the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings heading into this matchup.

The biggest news for this game will be the status of Scottie Barnes. He is officially questionable and could return to action tonight. Barnes has been cleared for contact and he will likely play with protective eye gear. Barnes has missed the team’s last 11 games with an orbital fracture due to a Nikola Jokic elbow to the face. If Barnes is back in the lineup, expect Ochai Agbaji to slide back to the bench.

Immanuel Quickley (elbow), DJ Carton (ankle), Bruno Fernando (ankle), Kelly Olynyk (back) and Bruce Brown (knee) are all out for the Raptors. Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter (shoulder) is questionable.

The Timberwolves have two important role players on their injury report as Mike Conley (toe) and Donte DiVincenzo (back) are questionable to play.

These two teams last met on Oct. 26 when the Timberwolves defeated the Raptors 112-101. The highlight from this game for the Raptors was Gradey Dick who finished with 25 points. This game started Dick’s impressive scoring run.

RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl were big in the Raptors latest win over Indiana so keep an eye on them tonight. Especially Poeltl who is coming off back-to-back 30-point performances. However, he will have a tough task tonight going up against the defensive force that is Rudy Gobert.
