Vince Carter is officially an enshrined member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Carter headlined a 2024 class that featured 13 inductees in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Carter was an eight-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA selection, 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year and 2000 Dunk Contest winner. He spent the first 6 1/2 of his NBA-record 22 seasons with the Toronto Raptors.

“It all started there. I had some memorable moments with that organization that created ‘Vinsanity,” Which is why, without a doubt, I’m going into the Hall of Fame as a Raptor,” Carter said during his speech.

Carter led Toronto to their first-ever playoff berth in 2000 and later helped them win their first-ever playoff series in 2001. He averaged 23.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 403 games with the Raptors.

The Raptors will retire Carter’s No. 15 jersey on Nov. 2 at Scotiabank Arena, which will make him the first player in franchise history to receive the honor.

Basketball legend Jerry West who’s already in the Hall of Fame as a player and member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic team, was inducted again as a contributor for his work as an executive. He became the first member of the Hall of Fame enshrined as a player and contributor.

Other inductees included former NBA players Chauncey Billups, Michael Cooper, Walter Davis and Dick Barnett, Australian star Michele Timms, NCAA coaches Bo Ryan and Harley Redin, high school coach Charles Smith, WNBA star Seimone Augustus and contributors Doug Collins and Herb Simon.

Raptors players reveal most iconic player in team history

In the storied 30 years of the Raptors franchise, who is the most iconic Raptors player of all time?

Jamal Shead, Gradey Dick, Ja’Kobe Walter and Ochai Agbaji all answered Vince Carter when asked the question.
