The Raptors will provide an update on Barrett’s condition at a later date, the team announced.
Barrett had a strong preseason opener scoring 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field to go along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 14 minutes of action.
The Raptors are already without rookie Ja’Kobe Walter who’s been dealing with a shoulder sprain and Bruce Brown who’s recovering from offseason knee surgery. Both players missed all of training camp last week.
Also, both Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley did not play in the Raptors preseason opener. Barnes missed training camp because the birth of his child and Quickley has been dealing with a thumb injury.
It’s unknown if Barrett will be ready to go for the Raptors regular season opener on Oct. 23 when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Barrett averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 32 starts for the Raptors last season.
Raptors point guard depth looks promising with Davion Mitchell & Jamal Shead
The Toronto Raptors appear to have good point guard depth behind Immanuel Quickley in Davion Mitchell and Jamal Shead.
Ironically, both players came in a trade where the Raptors acquired Mitchell and the rights to Shead (the 45th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft) from the Sacramento Kings for Jalen McDaniels.
