The Toronto Raptors announced the signing of Jared Rhoden, who spent the past two seasons with the Detroit Pistons. Per team policy, financial terms of Rhoden’s contract with the Raptors were not disclosed.
The New York native played four seasons at Seton Hall, averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 26 minutes over 122 collegiate games. Rhoden improved on those totals during his senior year with the Pirates, averaging 15.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 33.1 minutes per game.
Rhoden was named to the All-Big East First Team as a senior.
He went undrafted but signed a two-way contract with the Pistons in December 2022. Rhoden then signed another two-way contract with Detroit in July 2023.
Prior to joining the Pistons, Rhoden played for the College Park Skyhawks, the G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.
He appeared in a combined 31 games over two seasons with the Pistons, and averaged 4.1 points and 2.3 rebounds during that time. Last season, Rhoden scored a career-high 16 points against the San Antonio Spurs.
Although his experience at the NBA level has been minimal thus far, the 6-foot-6 guard has shot 46% from the field and 33% behind the 3-point line.
Rhoden turns 25 years old on Aug. 27.
