When thinking of the smallest guards in NBA history, Muggsy Bogues is a common name that gets brought up.
Despite his size, Bogues made it work and had himself a lengthy 14-year career. He played a total of 889 games and averaged 7.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 7.7 assists on 45.8 percent shooting from the field.
Towards the latter stages of his career, Bogues played for the Toronto Raptors in his final two seasons.
Ultimately, he averaged 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 43.6 percent shooting from the field and 32.7 percent shooting from three-point range. Yet, Bogues became a fan favorite in his short tenure in Toronto.
During his time in Canada, he encountered Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry as a child. Bogues shared this throwback picture on Instagram, shortly after Team USA secured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics:

Bogues dropped his opinion on Curry by calling him the greatest shooter on this planet. This should not be a hot take given how the sharpshooter changed the entire game of basketball.
Back when Bogues played, the three-point line was not as important as it is now. Essentially, every player nowadays needs to be able to space the floor or a player’s career is going to be a short one.
All in all, it is great to see Bogues share this picture, showcasing a full circle moment. He may not have recognized it then, but he saw a legend in the making in Curry.
