The Toronto Raptors are in the midst of a rebuild.
They’re hoping it won’t be a long one and that their core of Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett will flourish together.
These are the three players the Raptors will be investing in moving forward.
The Ringer recently put out their top 100 player ranked, which includes the three Raptors mentioned.
First, they have Barnes ranked at No. 41:
“A singular talent still figuring out the NBA game and how, exactly, his unusual skill set fits into it.”
This ranking is a little surprising given the season Barnes just had. He had a huge third year leap on his way to becoming an NBA All-Star. Barnes is ranked below players such as Jalen Williams and James Harden. There’s no denying Barnes is one of the NBA’s rising stars. He could legitimately crack the top 25 players next season.
The Ringer then ranked Immanuel Quickley at No. 92:
“Backcourt dynamo gets his chance to run a team.”
Quickley showed flashes of just how good he can be in Toronto. He averaged 18.6 points, 6.8 assists, 4.8 rebounds on 42.2 percent shooting from the field and 39.5 percent from three in 38 games for the Raptors. Quickley is on the rise and he will have a chance to take a major leap next season as Toronto’s full-time starting point guard.
Lastly, Barrett just makes the cut coming in at No. 99:
“A muscular wing now faced with a second chance to make a first impression.”
Barrett elevated his game as soon as he arrived in Toronto. He showed off his aggressiveness, his ability to get downhill and he was able to knock down 39.2 percent of his threes in 32 games with the Raptors. Barrett will have an opportunity to continue to grow his game in Toronto.
