Kyle Lowry is going home.
The former Raptor has reached an agreement with the Charlotte Hornets on a contract buyout and will sign a $2.8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers upon hitting free agency, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He will have to wait to clear waivers before signing the deal.

Lowry going to the 76ers means that this will be a homecoming for him. He was born and raised in North Philadelphia and attended Villanova University to play college basketball.
Lowry will also be reunited with head coach Nick Nurse. He played three seasons for Nurse and won a championship with him on the Toronto Raptors in 2019.
Lowry will likely serve as the primary backup point guard for All-Star Tyrese Maxey. The Miami Heat traded Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick to the Hornets. However, Lowry has not played a game for them.
Lowry is not the All-Star he used to be but his efficiency as a scorer is still holding strong with a 58.2 percent shooting rate. Lowry will help the 76ers come playoff time with his toughness and veteran leadership.
The 76ers are currently fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 31-21.
Lowry averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game with the Heat this season. He hopes to help the 76ers get over the top come playoff time and win another championship under Nurse.

Olynyk made his Raptors debut on Feb. 10.
The Raptors did not get the result they wanted losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they saw some standout play from their All-Star Scottie Barnes.
Olynyk could not help but notice Barnes’ impressive skills, particularly his elite passing.
