The Toronto Raptors are in Orlando to kick off a quick two-game road trip against the Magic.
This will be the Raptors second In-Season Tournament game (0-1), while this will be the Magic’s third (1-1).
The Raptors (6-7) come into this matchup fresh off a total beatdown of the Detroit Pistons. The Raptors led wire to wire and led by as many as 40 points before coming away with a 142-113 win.
Pascal Siakam led the way with 23 points and Scottie Barnes added 17 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds on a ridiculous +35 in 25 minutes of action.
The Magic (8-5) are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season. They held the team with the best offensive rating in the Indiana Pacers in check. Indiana only shot it 44.2 percent from the field and 25.8 percent from deep against a stingy Magic defense.
The Magic are tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the best defensive rating in the league. That’s going to be tough for a Raptors team that ranks 23rd in offensive rating, 22nd in field goal percentage and 27th in three-point shooting.
Magic have a better defense than the Raptors, however their offense is worse as the Magic rank 25th overall in offensive rating.
Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes are going to need to be on their game as they will take on the dynamic duo of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Banchero won the Rookie of the Year last season, while Wagner was taken in Scottie Barnes 2021 NBA Draft class at pick No. 8.
This will serve as a true measuring stick game for the Raptors. They will need to prove that they are better than teams like Orlando if they want to be in the playoff mix this season.
