Raptors News: Giannis Antetokounmpo To Miss Game Against Toronto

The Toronto Raptors will likely be shorthanded against the Milwaukee Bucks.

O.G. Anunoby who’s dealing with a finger injury and Gary Trent Jr. who’s dealing with right foot plantar fasciitis are both doubtful. Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder is questionable with knee soreness.

The Raptors aren’t the only team dealing with key players being out. Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out against Toronto:

No Giannis for the Bucks. He’ll miss tonight’s game in Toronto with a right calf strain.

Jae Crowder and Chris Livingston are also out for the Bucks.

The Bucks will lean on Damian Lillard to lead their team and offense. If Schroder is unable to start Toronto will likely have Malachi Flynn fill in as the starting point guard. Flynn has done a good job defensively overall this season, but trying to matchup against Lillard will be a tough assignment for him.

With Giannis out, Khris Middleton could see an increase workload against the Raptors. The Bucks have been holding him to about 20 minutes per game this season.

The Raptors are hoping they can get big contributions from their best players. Both Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam scored 20+ points in the Raptors 130-111 win the first time these teams met on Nov. 1.

Toronto being without some key players will be a big blow for them, but at least they don’t have to worry about Antetokounmpo who is always a handful to deal with. Antetokounmpo has been on a roll. He has scored 54 points, 35 points and 35 points in his last three contests.

The Raptors are looking to make it 2-0 against the Bucks in the season series.
