With the Damian Lillard sweepstakes in the books, NBA teams turned their attention to Media Day.
During Bucks Media Day, TNT reporter Chris Haynes sat down with Damian Lillard.
Damian Lillard revealed a funny story where he abruptly got off a phone call with Chris Haynes because Raptors’ O.G. Anunoby sent Lillard a random text message saying ‘welcome to Toronto’:
The prank Raptors forward OG Anunoby pulled on Bucks star Damian Lillard that shocked him days before actual trade: “Welcome to Toronto.” pic.twitter.com/kSJ4WAAIKv

Lillard said that he initially called Anunoby but he didn’t answer, but then Anunoby called Lillard back laughing and that’s when Lillard knew he was being pranked.
The idea of joining the Raptors seemed to have Lillard nervous.
There were reports suggesting that Damian Lillard didn’t want to be traded to the Raptors.
This isn’t the first time false news came out regarding a Damian Lillard to Raptors trade.
The Atheltic’s Shams Charania mistakenly put out this post on X saying that the Raptors had traded for Lillard:
Shams really pump faked all Raptors fans when he tweeted this 😳😂 pic.twitter.com/mOTPx9nnDT

Charania quickly realized his mistake and deleted the post.
For the Raptors they have move past the Damian Lillard trade rumors and now turn their attention to the new season.
The Raptors had their Media Day and now open up training camp in British Columbia. The team will play in their first preseason game on Oct. 8 against the Sacramento Kings at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
The Raptors kickoff their regular season on Oct. 25 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Raptors media day
As mentioned the Raptors had their Media Day. Filled with many noteworthy moments, the biggest takeaway was Masai Ujiri seemingly taking a shot at Pascal Siakam and calling him selfish.
Masai Ujiri and the Raptors haven’t talked about a contract extension with Siakam yet, leaving some fans concerned about the future of this team.
