Anthony Edwards scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a thrilling 128-126 comeback win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

Historic Win in Toronto

The Timberwolves overcame an 18-point deficit to notch their first victory in Toronto since January 21, 2004. Their last road win in this matchup came in February 2021 — during the Raptors’ temporary relocation to Tampa due to COVID-19.

Balanced Scoring Powers Minnesota

Minnesota had a strong offensive showing with Bones Hyland adding 20 points, followed by Jaden McDaniels with 19, and Naz Reid and Julius Randle chipping in 17 each. Donte DiVincenzo contributed 15 points, and Rudy Gobert posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Timberwolves improved to 14-5 against Eastern Conference opponents.

Raptors Can’t Hold On

Despite solid efforts, the Raptors dropped their fourth game in five home contests. Brandon Ingram scored 25, Immanuel Quickley had 23, and Scottie Barnes recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ingram knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Sandro Mamukelashvili added 14 points, while RJ Barrett and Collin Murray-Boyles each finished with 13 for Toronto.

Key Turning Point

Toronto led 77-59 early in the third quarter and held a 104-94 advantage heading into the fourth. However, Minnesota chipped away at the lead and took their first advantage since the second quarter when Edwards drove for a layup with 2:26 left, making it 118-117.

Edwards struggled from beyond the arc (1-for-8) but was efficient inside, shooting 10-for-15 on two-pointers and 7-for-10 from the free-throw line.

Sloppy Finish Costs Raptors

Toronto committed seven of its 13 turnovers in the final period, resulting in 11 points for Minnesota — a critical factor in the comeback.

Guard Ochai Agbaji was absent as the Raptors played their final game before the trade deadline on Thursday afternoon.
