Scottie Barnes poured in 28 points and flirted with a triple-double as the Toronto Raptors held off the Portland Trail Blazers for a 121–118 victory on Tuesday night.
Barnes shot 10 of 18 from the field and added seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks, powering Toronto to a bounce-back win after dropping two straight.
Immanuel Quickley delivered 23 points and eight assists, while Brandon Ingram scored 21. Rookie guard Gradey Dick provided a spark off the bench with 14 points.
Blazers’ Big Performances Not Enough
Portland squandered a standout effort from Deni Avdija, who finished with 25 points, 14 assists, and eight rebounds. Toumani Camara dropped 21 points and seven boards, and Canadian native Shaedon Sharpe contributed 23 points in his homecoming.
Toronto again played without RJ Barrett, who is sidelined with a sprained right knee suffered on Nov. 23.
Raptors Take Control, Hold On Late
Quickley’s 3-pointer early in the second quarter jump-started a 16–3 run, pushing the Raptors ahead 53–43 midway through the period.
Portland hung around, cutting the deficit to 117–115 on Sharpe’s free throws with 1:18 left, but Toronto sealed the win with an emphatic dunk and clutch free throws from Ingram in the final seconds.
