Norman Powell is on his way to the Miami Heat.

The former Toronto Raptors guard was traded to the Heat as part of a three-team deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz on Monday, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania:

BREAKING: The Clippers, Jazz and Heat have agreed to a trade that sends Norman Powell to Miami, John Collins to Los Angeles, and Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick to the Jazz, sources tell ESPN. pic.twitter.com/o0FkV0o2l8

Powell was a borderline All-Star last season. He averaged a career-high 21.8 points on 48.4 percent shooting and 41.8 percent from three in 60 starts for the Clippers. Powell stepped up in a big way with Paul George gone. He expanded his role and became a huge offensive weapon for Los Angeles.

The Heat now have a proven scorer who can get downhill and who will alleviate pressure off of Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo. Powell will be back in the Eastern Conference where he will face his old team the Raptors many times this season. The Heat and Raptors could cross paths down the line in what should be a crowded East Play-In picture.

Powell will enter his 11th NBA season as this will mark his 4th team. He is in the final year of his deal and will earn $20.5 million.

For now Powell is slatted to start alongside Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Adebayo and Kel’el Ware.

Raptors make Jakob Poeltl’s contract extension official

Jakob Poeltl will officially be back next season.

The Toronto Raptors have made Poeltl’s contract extension official. The deal will keep Poeltl in Toronto through the 2029–30 season.
