Colin Castleton is a Toronto Raptor once again.
Castleton was in Toronto on two 10-day contracts before the franchise decided to not sign him to a standard contract.
After deciding not to convert him, the 24-year-old went to another Eastern Conference team in the Philadelphia 76ers. Again, he was signed to 10-day contracts and was not converted.
Despite promising performances on both teams, things were not materializing. However, Castleton is making a quick return to Canada as the Raptors announced they signed him to a standard deal:

The undrafted center has been searching for a home after initially being on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023. Since then Castleton has played with the Memphis Grizzlies, 76ers and Raptors.
In his previous 10 games with Toronto, the 6’10” center averaged 6.9 points and 7.4 rebounds on 47.4 percent shooting from the field. His best game came against the Utah Jazz back on March 14, where he put up 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Recently during his time with Philadelphia, he scored 16 points and 8 rebounds against the Atlanta Hawks on April 11. So, there are signs of Castleton being a positive frontcourt player.
Center depth is an area of concern for the Raptors, as finding a capable backup for Jakob Poeltl is crucial. Although, Castleton needs to time to develop, Toronto believes in what they see.
Putting on more muscle is a priority to hang with the more physical bigs in the NBA. In addition to Castleton trying to implement a three-point shot.
If he is able to build on those this summer, perhaps he can continue to turn heads in the Raptors organization.
Colin Castleton’s career stats
Through two seasons, Colin Castleton has already played for four teams. Hopefully, the Raptors are the team that provides that home as he continues to grow as a center.
Through these two seasons, he has appeared in 41 games across these four stints. In totality, Castleton is averaging 3.3 points and 3.2 rebounds on 46.7 percent shooting from the field and 12.5 percent shooting from deep.
