Former Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis is getting another shot in the NBA.
The Sacramento Kings have signed Davis for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 27-year-old will be reunited with the Kings after he played three seasons in Sacramento from 2021 to 2023 before spending the past year in the G League.
Davis was playing for the Wisconsin Herd, which is the G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. That’s where he averaged 14.2 points per game while shooting 41.5 percent from three in 38 games this season.
Davis was undrafted from Ole Miss and he got his first chance in the league with the Toronto Raptors after a strong Summer League showing in 2019. He earned All-Rookie honors with the Raptors and finished sixth in Rookie of the Year voting. His career took a turn for the worst after he was arrested in the 2020 offseason for an alleged assault involving his girlfriend. The charges were later dropped.
The Raptors then traded Davis to the Kings at the 2020 trade deadline for a second-round pick. He earned himself a role with the Kings, as he was a key rotation piece during the 2022-23 season before Sacramento cut ties with Davis after their playoff exit.
Davis was playing with the Rip City Remix, the G League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers last season and that’s where he suffered a ruptured Achilles.
The Kings bring back Davis after dealing with multiple injuries to Malik Monk and Keegan Murray. The Kings will be in the Western Conference’s 9 vs. 10 play-in game next week.
Raptors projected to take two freshmen in 2025 NBA Draft
The Toronto Raptors season is virtually over with 3 games left in the regular season.
They are essentially locked into having the 7th best lottery odds ahead of the NBA Draft lottery in May.
Barring any movement, the Raptors should have the 7th pick in the upcoming draft and they will also have the No. 39 pick in the second-round.
