Tyler Herro stepped up late, scoring 10 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, as the Miami Heat snapped their four-game losing streak with a 120-111 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.

Andrew Wiggins added 25 points, while Bam Adebayo contributed 19 points and 12 rebounds. Davion Mitchell, facing his former team for the first time since being traded earlier this month, scored 16 points, and Duncan Robinson chipped in 14. The win marked Miami’s first victory since February 5 against Philadelphia.

This was the fourth and final meeting of the season between Miami and Toronto, and the Heat became the first road team to win the series.

RJ Barrett led the Raptors with 29 points, Immanuel Quickley scored 23, and Scottie Barnes added 13. Gradey Dick grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds, but Toronto continued to struggle, losing for the sixth time in seven games.

Both teams had chances to win in regulation. Barnes and Adebayo missed driving layups in the final moments, and Wiggins attempted a putback on Adebayo’s miss, but Barrett blocked it, sending the game to overtime.

Takeaways

Heat: Miami had struggled overtime on the road this season, losing its first three attempts, but Adebayo’s six points in the extra period helped the Heat break that trend.

Raptors: Scottie Barnes scared Raptors fans when he appeared to injure his right ankle late in the first quarter. However, the 2022 Rookie of the Year returned midway through the second, earning a loud ovation from the crowd.

Key Moment

Toronto erased a 14-point first-half deficit and briefly took the lead in the final minute of regulation. However, a costly foul by Barrett sent Wiggins to the free-throw line, where he knocked down all three attempts to tie the game at 107 and force overtime.

Key Stat

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra earned his 886th career win, surpassing Red Auerbach for the third-most victories by a coach with a single franchise. Gregg Popovich (1,582) and Jerry Sloan (1,223) are the only coaches ahead of him.

Up Next

Both teams return to action Sunday, with Miami traveling to Milwaukee to face the Bucks, while Toronto will host the Phoenix Suns.
