Scottie Barnes has popped up on the Toronto Raptors’ injury report ahead of their matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
Barnes has been listed as questionable with a left hip contusion, per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg. Barnes played 34 minutes in Tuesday night’s loss to the Boston Celtics and it is unclear when the 23-year-old suffered the injury.
Barnes has already missed 13 games this season and he is nearing the 65-game threshold required for All-NBA eligibility. It is already deemed a long shot for Barnes to get those honors given Toronto’s record, however, he still has an outside shot if he finishes the season strong. Of course, if Barnes secures an All-NBA spot it would make him eligible for a projected $46 million raise on his next contract. Therefore, there is a lot at stake for Barnes.
Meanwhile, Jakob Poeltl remains questionable with a right hip injury. It has kept the Raptors big man out for three weeks. However, Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said on Tuesday that Poeltl is “close” to returning.
Brandon Ingram (ankle) remains out for the Raptors along with Ulrich Chomche (MCL tear). Garrett Temple is away from the team for personal reasons. Jamison Battle, AJ Lawson and Jaren Rhoden are on G League assignment.
For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton is questionable with left groin soreness and T.J. McConnell is questionable with a right ankle sprain.
