Scottie Barnes’ potential is limitless.

The young Toronto Raptors star is in the midst of playing some of the best basketball of his career. In his last 6 games since returning from injury, Barnes has been averaging 21.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists.

Barnes has positioned himself as one of the top young players in the league moving forward.

ESPN put out their NBA 25 under 25 list, ranking the 25 best players under 25-years-old and they ranked Barnes at No. 11:

“Last season was a breakout campaign for Barnes, as the 6-foot-8 forward joined Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only players to average at least 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 block per game. Barnes was rewarded with an All-Star berth and a max contract. He has had a slow start this season due to injury, but he has established himself as the bedrock of Toronto’s rebuild, with his 3-point shot determining his future ceiling on this list.” — Bontemps

This is a very generous ranking for Barnes as he comes in ahead of the likes of Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons and LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets. Barnes just missed out on the top 10 as Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun ranked ahead of him.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Jalen Williams ranked No. 9, Cleveland Cavaliers’ big man Evan Mobley ranked No. 8, Philadelphia 76ers’ guard Tyrese Maxey came in at No. 7 and Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton ranked No. 6.

The top 5 features Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder at No. 5, Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic at No. 4, his teammate Paolo Banchero at No. 3, Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards comes in at No. 2 and to no one’s surprise San Antonio Spurs’ phenom Victor Wembanyama is ranked No. 1.

Raptors share latest injury report

Gradey Dick is close to making a return.

The Toronto Raptors have listed him as questionable for Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers.
