The Toronto Raptors bounced back to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 115-107.

Both teams combined for 66 fouls and 99 free throws in a game that nearly lasted 3 hours.

The Raptors effort level was much better in this one and their defense was excellent. They limited the 76ers to 38 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from three.

The Raptors bench combined for 41 points, 28 rebounds, 6 steals, 8 blocks and went 16-for-19 from the line.

Scottie Barnes responds

Barnes answered the call after a poor outing in his first game of the season. He was composed and was aggressive getting to the free throw line 13 times, making 11 of them.

Barnes put the exclamation mark on the Raptors win when he powered through contact from Maxey for a two-handed slam. The 23-year-old finished with a team-high 27 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Jonathan Mogbo difference maker

Mogbo had a standout performance for the Raptors. He put up 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks and was a +21. Mogbo showed off his playmaking skills and contested shots. He blocked a Tyrese Maxey three-point attempt and blocked Kelly Oubre Jr. twice in the first half.

Jamison Battle sharpshooter

Battle might end up being a hidden gem for the Raptors. He helped Toronto hold off the 76ers in the fourth quarter when he scored 10 of his 12 points in the frame, which included a couple of clutch three pointers. Battle shot 4-for-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from three to go along with 6 rebounds.

Jamal Shead solid defense

Tyrese Maxey had a tough shooting game going up against Davion Mitchell and Jamal Shead. When Mitchell got into foul trouble, Shead spent most of the night on Maxey. Shead and the Raptors held Maxey to 6-for-23 shooting. Shead continues to be a bright spot on the Raptors bench.

Next on tap

The Raptors will get set for their first back-to-back of the season. They will be in Minnesota to take on the new-look Timberwolves on Saturday night.
