The Toronto Raptors will look to rebound from their humiliating season opening loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Scotiabank Arena.
The Cavaliers easily defeated the Raptors 136-106 and dominated the points in the paint 68-38.
The Raptors were without four key rotation pieces and then lost Immanuel Quickley in the first half after he took a hard fall. He left the game with a pelvic contusion and did not return.
Meanwhile, the 76ers lost their opening night game to the Milwaukee Bucks 124-109. The 76ers were without Joel Embiid and Paul George.
For this game both Embiid and George will be out again with knee injuries and Caleb Martin is probable with a calf injury.
For Toronto, Bruce Brown (knee), Kelly Olynyk (back) and Ja’Kobe Walter (shoulder) have all been ruled out. Immanuel Quickley (pelvis) and RJ Barrett (shoulder) are doubtful.
All eyes will be on Scottie Barnes to see how he responds after his poor opening game performance. Barnes will need to be aggressive and set the tone early if the shorthanded Raptors want to defeat former Raptors coach Nick Nurse and his 76ers.
The Raptors bench which is already thin, will see Davion Mitchell move into the starting lineup if Quickley does not play. This means the Raptors will lean on Jamal Shead even more in this game, who will slide into the Raptors backup point guard spot.
