It was a game to forget for the Toronto Raptors.
They were blown out by the Miami Heat 109-73. The Heat improved to 4-0 and advanced to the Summer League semifinals. Meanwhile, the Raptors were officially eliminated from the playoff field, falling to 2-2.
The Heat led by as many as 42 as they cruised to the comfortable victory.
The Raptors were once again without Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo.
Here are some takeaways from this game:
Ja’Kobe Walter bounced back
Walter came into this game in a shooting slump. He was shooting just 11.1 percent from three and 25.9 percent from the field. Walter quietly put together a nice performance against the Heat. He led the Raptors with 16 points on 5-11 shooting from the field and was 3-7 from deep. This was by far Walter’s best Summer League outing.
Jamison Battle had another good shooting game
Battle had a nice bounce back game as well, making three triples. After struggling in the Raptors last game, he was able to come back strong in this one. He finished with 9 points on 3-4 shooting from deep. He added 2 rebounds and 2 assists. He’s been a nice bright spot for the Raptors during Summer League.
Ochai Agbaji struggled again
Agbaji’s rough Summer League continues. The 24-year-old had another rough offensive outing. He was 0-5 from the field and 0-3 from deep. He also had 2 turnovers. Agbaji hasn’t been able to get it going offensively and it’s concerning that he’s struggling at this level.
