The Toronto Raptors took another rookie at the 2024 NBA Draft.
The organization traded back into the second round to select Ulrich Chomche with the 57th pick.
The pick was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves:

Chomche is 6-foot-10 and spent this past season playing in the Basketball Africa League.
He appeared in three games during the Basketball Africa League qualifiers in which he averaged 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range.
Chomche is just 18-years-old and the expectation is that he will come in and join Toronto on a two-way contract. He will likely see plenty of playing time with the Raptors 905 before he joins the Raptors down the line.
The Raptors acquiring the 57th pick was one of two deals the franchise made today. Toronto acquired the 45th pick earlier in the day in a three-player deal with the Sacramento Kings. The Raptors used the pick to draft Jamal Shead out of Houston.
The Raptors finish their draft with four new rookies on the team. They took Baylor freshman Ja’Kobe Walter at No. 19 and Jonathan Mogbo out of San Francisco at No. 31. Then they added Houston’s Shead at No. 45 and international prospect Chomche at No. 57.
With the draft in the rear view, the Raptors will now have to make a decision on Bruce Brown’s team option before June 28.
NBA free agency begins on June 30.
