The 2024 NBA Draft is less than two weeks away.
There is still a lot of speculation about who the Toronto Raptors will take with their No. 19 pick.
Toronto has worked out many prospects and still have some scheduled workouts remaining.
Zach Edey is among the prospects the Raptors have recently worked out. Edey was sporting a Raptors jersey at the OVO Athletic Center going through a workout with Toronto.
The Raptors have been linked to Edey a ton lately.
According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Toronto could snag Edey at No. 19:
“The Raptors love homegrown Canadian-born players and are a team to monitor for Zach Edey if he falls to this pick.”
Edey would certainly fit a need for Toronto. The team needs frontcourt depth and at 7-foot-4, Edey would be a compelling option for the Raptors.
He averaged 24.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 2.1 assists per game while shooting an efficient 62.5 percent from the field. Edey showed off his versatility and dominance on the court. He clinched his second straight Player of the Year award while leading the Boilermakers to the NCAA championship game.
Edey talked about the possibility of getting drafted by the Raptors:
“Obviously getting drafted anywhere would be a blessing, but drafted by Toronto, it’s the team you grew up watching. It’s a team all my buddies are watching, my family watch. It’d be real cool.”
If Edey can develop any sort of jump shot, it will make him much more valuable on offense. He was impressive with his three-point range at the draft combine.
If Edey does fall in the draft, there seems to be a good chance that the Raptors will take the Purdue center.
Kel’el Ware projected to Raptors in latest mock draft
Michael Scotto projects Zach Edey going to the Orlando Magic right before Toronto’s first-round pick. He has the Raptors landing Kel’el Ware out of Indiana at No. 19.
