Christian Koloko appears to be progressing well.
Koloko is working his way back from a respiratory illness that halted his NBA career and forced the Toronto Raptors to move on from him.
The former Raptors second-round pick shared an Instagram story of him working out with the caption “slowly but surely”:

The Raptors had high hopes for Koloko. He appeared in 59 games for Toronto as a rookie, averaging 3.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He ended up starting in 19 games for the Raptors.
The 23-year-old was listed on the injury report ahead of Summer League last year due to a respiratory issue that kept him sidelined. He was still seen working out at the OVO Athletic Centre but he was never cleared to play.
The Raptors then had to make the tough decision of waiving Koloko on Jan. 17 following the Pascal Siakam to Indiana Pacers trade.
Masai Ujiri and the Raptors couldn’t discuss Koloko’s health situation publicly, but The Athletic later reported that he was battling a blood clot issue that was potentially career-threatening.
Koloko is currently a free agent so there’s a chance he could reunite with the Raptors down the line.
Ujiri spoke about Koloko following the conclusion of Toronto’s 2023-24 season:
“We’re still checking on it. We’re still keeping tabs on him and seeing where things go with his medical. We really wish him the best.”
Hopefully, Koloko can return to NBA action soon.
