The Toronto Raptors blowout the Brooklyn Nets out of the All-Star break.

Toronto got off to a strong first quarter outscoring the Nets 30-21 and never looked back.

Gary Trent Jr. scored 25 points and Immanuel Quickley added 24 points. He shot 5-8 from three-point range and has made at least one shot from distance in 27 consecutive games, matching a career-best streak.

Toronto spoiled the debut of interim Nets coach Kevin Ollie.

Scottie Barnes had 18 points and RJ Barrett scored 12 as he matched a season high with 7 assists. The Raptors were able to snap their three-game losing streak and recorded their fist win in 12 games against Atlantic Division opponents this season.

The Raptors outscored Brooklyn 46-10 in fast-break points, a season best in that category.

Mikal Bridges led the Nets with 21 points and Cam Thomas scored 19. The Nets failed to extend a five-game winning streak against Toronto. Brooklyn has now lost three straight and 6 of their last 7 contests.

The Raptors did a great job on the defensive end. They forced the Nets to a season-high 10 turnovers. This led to 32 points for the Raptors.

Brooklyn’s 93 points were the fewest by a Toronto opponent this season. Toronto had not held an opponent to below 100 points since a 121-97 win over the Miami Heat on Jan. 17.

The Raptors led 59-48 at the half. Quickley scored 11 points in the third as the Raptors extended their lead to 82-71 heading into the fourth quarter. The Raptors led by as many as 34 points on route to the win.

In a blowout situation, newest Raptors guard DJ. Carton made his Toronto debut after singing a 10-day contract on Feb. 21. Carton scored his first NBA basket as he finished with 3 points in 4 minutes.

Next on tap

The Raptors will be in action again tomorrow night when they take on the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks are currently 4.5 games up on the Raptors for the final play-in spot in the East, so if Toronto wants any chance of being back in the play-in race this is a must win for them.
