Scottie Barnes made his All-Star Game debut in Indianapolis on Feb. 18.
This is a big step for Barnes and the Toronto Raptors organization.
He was deemed an injury replacement along with Trae Young as Joel Embiid and Julius Randle missed Sunday’s game.
Barnes went viral on social media for backwards half-court shot attempt during the Skills Challenge:

This shows the kind of person Barnes is, he is someone who likes to have fun when he is taking the floor. He talked about his laid back personality, as he likes to not take things so seriously, via Kayla Grey of TSN:
“I’m always happy, I’m goofy you know a little bit. They call my name I couldn’t help but smile even if I try to hide it…just come out. I’m just gonna always smile…you see my mom you’re going to see her always smiling. It’s just who were are.”
All-Star Weekend is about the best players in the NBA coming together for a fun time and participating in festivities. Barnes took in his first time being an All-Star and cherished the moment by enjoying himself.
The third year player had himself a nice All-Star Game debut, including this thunderous dunk he had in transition:

The 22-year-old put up 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 18 minutes. To put a cherry on top, the Eastern Conference got the win over the Western Conference 211-186.
While the All-Star Game received poor reviews from fans, perhaps change is on the horizon. But, hopefully this is the first of many appearances for Barnes moving forward.
