Scottie Barnes might not make it to Indianapolis for the 2024 NBA All-Star game this year.

Despite his stellar third season with the Raptors, Barnes’ All-Star chances are not looking good after the latest results.

Barnes finished 11th in All-Star votes among Eastern Conference frontcourt players with 21. This put him in a tie with Pascal Siakam and Julius Randle:

NBA players voted Scottie Barnes 11th among Eastern Conference All-Star forwards:

1. Giannis
2. Embiid
3. Tatum
4. Paolo
5. Bam
6. Brown
7. Bridges
8. Butler
9. Kristaps
10. Allen
11. Scottie/Pascal (tied)

The top six seems spot on, however, Mikal Bridges, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jarrett Allen all being ahead of Barnes is very debatable.

Barnes did have a hot start to the season, but he has cooled off a bit since the new year. However, he has still been putting up solid numbers.

He is averaging 20.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists 1.3 steals, 1.5 blocks on 47.8 percent shooting and 36.3 percent from three.

Barnes was 10th in voting from fans finishing with 508K votes. However, he did not receive a single media vote.

Now for Barnes to make the All-Star game as a reserve, the coaches need to vote him in. He has definitely put up an All-Star resume this season, but he is on a team that has done a lot of losing.

The Raptors are currently 16-29 and are 12th in the Eastern Conference. They have lost 8 of their last 9 games.

Will Barnes crack the All-Star team?

It is hard to imagine the coaches voting Barnes in given the circumstances. If he misses the All-Star game, this would be the first season since the Tampa season that the Raptors would be without an All-Star. Fred VanVleet and Siakam made it in back-to-back seasons.

However, the Raptors are currently in a rebuild and things are a work in progress. While Barnes has already shown that he is a budding star, the 22-year-old still has plenty of room to grow.

Even if Barnes isn’t named an All-Star this season, he will be one very soon into his career especially if he continues to put up these numbers.
