Pascal Siakam’s time with the Toronto Raptors appears to be coming to an end.
The two-time All-Star continues to be in the rumor mill. It seems like it’s only a matter of time until a trade happens.
There have been many teams linked to Siakam over the last couple of weeks.
According to Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic two Western Conference teams in particular have shown interest in the Raptors forward:
“The Warriors and Mavericks have expressed exploratory interest in Siakam as well, according to league sources.”
The Athletic also reported that the Raptors have “actively engaged in trade talks” with the Indiana Pacers for Siakam. The package deal outlined is Bruce Brown Jr., other salaries and three first-round draft picks for Siakam.
Per Charania and Amick, the Sacramento Kings have been listed as a suitor for Siakam as well, but they decided to pull out of conversations in recent weeks.
Trades for Siakam
For the Mavericks they could be looking to pair another star next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Siakam could be the missing piece who gets Dallas over the top in the Western Conference. The Mavericks have a mix of veterans and young players like Jaden Hardy, Josh Green and or Dereck Lively II who could sweeten a deal. That’s if the Mavericks are willing take a chance on trading for Siakam.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are reeling at 18-22 and need a change. They could use a star like Siakam to help turn their season around. The Warriors could offer Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga and draft capital but Golden State may not be willing to offer a young asset like Kuminga for a player who could wind up being a rental for them.
While things are heating up it does appear that the Pacers are now in the driver’s seat when it comes to winning the Siakam sweepstakes.
