The Toronto Raptors’ six-game west coast trip ended on a sour note.
Toronto got blown out by the red hot Utah Jazz 145-113. The Jazz continued their dominant play and won their fourth game in a row.
The 145 points put up by the Jazz is the third most points the Raptors have ever allowed in a game.
The Jazz offense couldn’t be stopped. They shot it 55.9 percent from the field and 48.8 percent from deep. The Jazz had 34 assists on 52 made baskets as everyone was touching the ball. They were too much to handle inside outscoring the Raptors 58-32 in points in the paint. They also outrebounded Toronto 56-31. This was a game where the Raptors were really missing Jakob Poeltl.
Also Utah’s bench was huge. The Jazz bench outscored the Raptors bench 80-48. This was lead by Jordan Clarkson’s 21 points.
Lauri Markkanen led all Jazz scorers with 22 points as every single player who checked into the game for the Jazz scored.
The Raptors offense did its part. They shot it 50 percent from three and 43.2 percent from the field. Their defense just couldn’t stop anything. In the third quarter the Raptors offense put up 38 points, but the Jazz responded with 41 of their own.
Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes did all they could for the Raptors scoring 27 and 19 respectively. Immanuel Quickley had 15 points and RJ Barrett turned in his worst game as a Raptor. He struggled to get his offense going scoring just 4 points in 30 minutes.
Jalen McDaniels led all bench scorers with 15 points. Jontay Porter had a nice outing of 9 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Meanwhile, Gradey Dick saw 12 minutes of action in garbage time but the rookie did not score a point going 0-3 from the field.
Overall the Raptors did have a promising west coast trip, but their final record will not reflect that as they finish 2-4 after the 6 games.

After a long gruelling road trip the Raptors will return home for three straight games at Scotiabank Arena. They will have a few days off and will be back in action on Jan. 15 against the Boston Celtics.
