Pascal Siakam remains in trade rumors with the NBA Trade Deadline looming. Siakam has been linked to many teams in the Eastern and Western Conference.
A team could look to pull the trigger on a Siakam trade to try and get over the top.
One Western Conference team that has been struggling as of late, could enter the Siakam sweepstakes.
According to Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors have a level of interest in Siakam but need to see how things are internally with the return of Draymond Green:
“If he’s (Siakam) still on the roster at the end of the trade deadline, which is less than a month away on Feb. 8, the Raptors only move at that point is letting him go into free agency where you risk losing him for nothing like Fred VanVleet. Or you sign him to an extension. So it’s definitely in play for him to stay. But whether it’s the Kings, the Pacers, there will be a market over the next few weeks…it will ramp up…the Warriors have a level of interest in Pascal Siakam from what I’m told.”
If the Warriors continue to slide, it seems likely that they will need to make a big splash if they want to try and save this season.
With the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green still in tact, the Warriors remain in win-now mode. Trading for a star like Siakam could help them turn things around.
Will the Warriors trade for Siakam?
The Warriors have intriguing young pieces that could be of interest to the Raptors.
Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody are two names that could move the needle in a potential trade.
Also, the Warriors have fellow Canadian Andrew Wiggins who could be flipped in the deal as well.
While nothing is imminent, the Warriors are one of the teams that make a lot of sense when it comes to trading for Siakam.
