The Toronto Raptors recently made a big blockbuster trade that was centered around the idea of building around Scottie Barnes.
The Raptors added RJ Barrett (23) and Immanuel Quickley (24) who fit Barnes’ (22) timeline.
Scottie Barnes is currently having the best season of his career and he looks to be the clear building block of the Raptors franchise.
A big reason why Barnes has taken a massive leap this season is because he has drastically improved his three-point per NBA University:
Scottie Barnes’ 3P shooting improvement this season is career altering…
Largest improvement in 3P% (+10.4%) of ANY player with 100+ 3PA
Nearly DOUBLED his attempts from 2.9 per game to 5.7! +2.42 3PA per 75 is the 4th largest 3PA increase in the NBA.

Barnes has seen the largest improvement in three-point percentage (+10.4%) of any player with 100+ three-point attempts.
He also nearly doubled his attempts from 2.9 per game to 5.7. The +2.42 three-pointers attempted per 75 is the 4th largest three-pointers attempted increase in the NBA.
Barnes is not only shooting threes at a better percentage but he’s taking more of them. That’s what you call true improvement.
What makes Barnes even more special is when his three-point shot isn’t falling he still has an impact on the game.
He struggled from three in the Raptors win over the Cleveland Cavaliers going 1-5 from downtown.
However, the third year forward still finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal.
Barnes putting up all-star numbers
For the season Barnes is averaging 21 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.4 blocks per game on 48 percent shooting from the field and 38.5 percent shooting from three.
These are All-Star numbers. If he keeps this up he should be named as an All-Star next month.
Barnes’ third year with the Raptors has been fascinating to watch, but it is his improved three-point shooting that has truly been impressive.
He put in a lot of work in the offseason and it has paid off tremendously to this point.
