The Toronto Raptors season has been as up and down as it gets. The team is 9-11 and they have had some nice wins, followed by bad loses.
It’s this type of inconsistent play that has fans calling for management to finally commit to a direction.
There’s nights where the players are on their game, the bench is contributing and the shots are falling. The Raptors had an excellent performance over the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 29.
But then there’s nights where players are struggling, the bench is a non-factor and the Raptors can’t hit a three to save their life. Their bad performance against the New York Knicks on Dec. 1 illustrated this.
Pascal Siakam who has had a very inconsistent season himself, perfectly summed up the Raptors season so far:
Pascal Siakam: “It doesn’t feel like anything is bad, it just feels like nothing is amazing.”
Couldn’t have summed up the Raptors’ first 20 games any better myself.

The Raptors have fully sunk to hit the panic button, but they haven’t done enough to show that they are a team ready to turn the corner.
But that’s what a middling team does. Sometimes they look terrible, sometimes they look good. The Raptors continue to walk the line of mediocrity and that’s not where they want to find themselves.
If the Raptors continue to be .500 or worse as the NBA Trade Deadline approaches, they will have some decisions to make with their current roster.
Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby are set to become unrestricted free agents in the summer of 2024 and both with have a lot of interest from contending teams.
If the Raptors fail to turn things around soon, a fire sale may be on tap for them.
Lakers eyeing Raptors potential fire sale
The Los Angeles Lakers are one team that is eyeing a potential fire sale in Toronto. The Lakers will look to get aggressive again at the deadline as they did last season.
