It’s been a tough season so far for rookie Gradey Dick. Darko Rajakovic gave Dick ample opportunities to begin the season, but it’s been a learning curve for the 13th overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft.
For the season Dick is averaging 3.9 points, on only 27 percent shooting from the field and 24.4 percent shooting from three in 14.7 minutes of action.
The shooting numbers are a little concerning because Dick was regarded as the best shooter of his draft class, but he has struggled to find the bottom of the net.
As the struggles continued there was speculation on if the Raptors were going to send Dick to the G League. After the Raptors win over the Chicago Bulls, the Raptors announced that Dick had been assigned to Raptors 905 ahead of the Nov.25 home game against Capital City in Mississauga, Ontario:
Gradey Dick has been assigned to the Raptors 905. Darko Rajaković mentioned this might happen at some point prior to tonight’s game

This is the right move for the Raptors. The writing was on the wall for Dick to be sent down. This time with Raptors 905 will be important for Dick to get back on track and get his confidence up.
Dick is coming off three extremely rough games, so the time for this move was now.
Raptors get ready for the Cavaliers
After a couple of back-to-back wins, the Raptors look to make it three wins in a row. They travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers for the first time this season.
The Raptors had much success over the Cavaliers last season taking three of four meetings. They hope that continues this season.
